Great Big Sand Truck

G D G
Great big sand truck rolls right by my door
G D
Wakes me up each morning with a rattle and a roar
G C7
When I get up to go to town that sand truck damn near runs me down
G D G
Great big sand truck rolls right by my door

Great big sand truck rolls right down the road
The pavement is groaning under the load
Those trucks are running day and night, they’re wrecking every road in sight
Great big sand truck rolls right down the road

Great big sand truck rolls through the town
It’s kicking up the sand as it’s bucking up and down
And everywhere that sand kicks off the people start to hack and cough
Great big sand truck rolls through the town

Great big sand truck rolls down to the tracks
Sand gets on the train because it’s got some shale to frack
The train goes off to far away like the profits and the jobs someday
Great big sand truck roll down to the tracks

Great big sand truck rolls right by my door
Wakes me up each morning with a rattle and a roar
When I get up to go to town that sand truck damn near runs me down
They sand truck, don’t come ‘round here no more

This song was written as I was completing my senior thesis at CSB/SJU, a look at the frack sand boom in Wisconsin and its environmental and economic impacts.
