The Ballad of Jimmy Hoffa Jr

Ballad of Jimmy Hoffa Jr, to the tune of Casey Jones

Come all you fellow Teamsters and I'll sing for you a song
It isn't very clever but it isn't very long
It's about our fearless leader who will never take a loss
One hand is in your pocket while the other jerks the boss

Jimmy Hoffa Jr keeps the trucks a-runnin'
Jimmy Hoffa Jr's doing mighty fine!
Jimmy Hoffa Jr pacified the Teamsters
'Cause the company don't wanna see a picket line

Well the folks at UPS about a hundred years ago
Said we better let some steam out or the pressure's gonna blow
A good do-nothin' union is the thing to make it stop
So they invited in the Teamsters to police the shop

Jimmy Hoffa Jr keeps the trucks a-runnin'
Jimmy Hoffa Jr's doing mighty fine!
Jimmy Hoffa Jr loves his partners in production
and making sure there never is a picket line

Every time a UPSer tries to stand up to the Man
The steward comes a-running with a contract in his hand
No walking out, no slowdowns, and you cannot go on strike
But we got the dues check-off so we're doing all right

Jimmy Hoffa Jr keeps the truck's a-running
Jimmy Hoffa Jr's doing mighty fine
Keeping wages low than non-union competition
and making sure there never is a picket line

In '34 in Minneapolis there were Teamsters brave and true
and they beat the living shit out of the bosses and their crew
National headquarters disliked it but they didn't give a fuck
'Cause the guys up at the headquarters don't drive the trucks

Jimmy Hoffa's Jr's daddy came a running
Drove in from Detroit, just his closest goons and he
Jimmy Hoffa Sr tried to crush the local
'Cause there couldn't be no commies in the IBT

Oh what would his old dad say in whatever place he lies
If he could look upon his grafting son with his own eyes
Good job with the corruption, kid, you've taken after me-
but you forgot that you're the union, not the company!

Jimmy Hoffa Jr keeps the trucks a running
Jimmy Hoffa Jr's doing mighty fine
Jimmy Hoffa Jr loves his daddy's marble palace
and hopes the rank and file never organize!
